This article explains how to configure Microsoft Edge (2026 Edition) to create an optimal user experience for Telviva UCaaS and CCaaS applications. This process is used to ensure seamless communication deployment and helps you prevent dropped calls, audio lag, and browser-related performance issues.
The "Golden Image" refers to a specific set of mandatory browser and hardware configurations required to maintain high-quality WebRTC (Real-Time Communication) sessions.
Edge’s Efficiency Mode is more aggressive than other browsers and can "freeze" a Telviva call mid-conversation if the tab is not currently active.
A Solid State Drive (SSD) is recommended to prevent application lag and ensure the browser can handle real-time data processing without bottlenecks. If the system runs out of RAM, it will swap applications out to the hard drive, and this is much faster on an SSD.
Verify Specifications: Ensure the device has a minimum Core i5 processor (Core i7 for heavy multitasking) and at least 8GB RAM to prevent "tab discarding".
Network Connection: Contact Centre agents must use physical Ethernet (Cat5e/Cat6). WiFi is highly discouraged; if used remotely, stay within 5 meters of the router with a clear line of sight.
Audio Gear: Use certified noise-canceling USB/DECT headsets (e.g., Jabra Evolve2) and keep firmware updated via the manufacturer's software.
Efficiency Settings: Navigate to edge://settings/system. Set Efficiency Mode to Off when plugged into power.
Sleeping Tabs: Disable "Save resources with sleeping tabs" for Telviva URLs.
Whitelist URLs: Add [*.]telviva.com to the "Never put these sites to sleep" list.
Hardware Acceleration: Ensure Use hardware acceleration when available is toggled On to offload video processing to the GPU.
Access Controls: Navigate to Site Permissions for one.telviva.com.
Allow Media: Set Microphone, Camera, and Notifications to Allow.
Autoplay: Set to Allow to ensure the ringtone sounds immediately for incoming calls.
VDI Users: If using Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365, enable Microsoft Multimedia Redirection to offload processing to the local device.
Description: This screenshot shows the edge://settings/system tab where users must disable Efficiency Mode and enable Hardware Acceleration to ensure call stability. Ensure that the switches ringed in red are off.
Description: This interface at edge://discards allows users to verify if the Telviva tab is "Active" or if it has been killed by the operating system due to low memory.
Problem: Call audio or video is choppy for remote/VDI users.
Solution: Enable Microsoft Multimedia Redirection to offload WebRTC processing from the cloud server to the local device.
Problem: Ringtone does not sound on incoming calls.
Solution: Change "Autoplay" permissions to Allow for the Telviva FQDN in browser settings.
Problem: Calls "freeze" when switching to another browser tab.
Solution: Add [*.]telviva.com to the "Never put these sites to sleep" list and disable Efficiency Mode.
WebRTC: A technology that enables real-time voice and video communication directly within web browsers without needing specialized plugins.
DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point): A mechanism used in Quality of Service (QoS) to prioritize specific types of network traffic, such as voice (DSCP 46) and video (DSCP 34).
VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure): A technology that hosts a desktop operating system on a centralized server, such as Azure Virtual Desktop.
FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name): The complete domain name for a specific computer, or host, on the internet (e.g., one.telviva.com).
